We were particularly impressed by the foliage of wild tulips.
In order to make the design look as natural as possible, we first processed the leaves and grasses into threads and put them on a traditional school weaving frame. They form the so-called weft, the chain consists of a mounted cotton thread. As textile designers, the work gave us a lot of pleasure, but was also associated with a good deal of effort: the grasses were not as easy to work with as conventional yarn.
